Comms for Kids Tutoring
As an experienced teacher with a wider career background in politics, public affairs and communications, Alison wants to use her collective skills to empower all children with the tools to be heard and the confidence to lead in making a difference in this world. She also supports all ages to do so through her 'Think Debate' group tutoring package.

Literacy and Communications

Specialist literacy and communications tutoring to help all children and young people flourish as confident communicators, critical thinkers and change makers.
One to one or small group literacy support away from busy classrooms to strengthen your child's communication confidence, with a strong focus on activities that also develop their critical thinking and citizenship skills.

Whether reading for information, writing a report, contributing to class discussions or delivering project presentations, support will be tailored to individual needs to help every child value and more confidently communicate their voice.

Delivered online (with in person available in Gourock) the sessions are available for Primary 3 through to S1/2 support. There is availability during the day as well as in the evening and the cost is £30 per session for one to one tutoring and £20 for small groups. The first lesson is free. A pay it forward system is also available to help others and through pro bono provision of Comms for Kids tutoring.

'Think Debate' Packages
'Think Debate' is a package of literacy, communications and democracy learning to empower small groups of all ages with the strengthened skills and knowledge to lead in making a difference.

The sessions encourage participants to explore and debate the issues that matter to them and the different ways in which they can influence change, whether at a peer, school or community level, or in wider Scotland and the world. And importantly, to develop the literacy and communication skills to do so.

The online sessions are available to schools, home education learners and youth groups, as well as community groups of all ages who are in need of this support. In person sessions can be delivered in the Inverclyde and surrounding area.
All sessions are age appropriate and tailored to the needs of each group. Costs are available on discussion and in response to those needs.
